Slava Pavlov was born with cerebral palsy, spastic tetraparesis, and partial atrophy of the optic nerve. Many of life’s actions we take for granted, such as walking and talking, are quite difficult for Slava. Although there is currently no cure for cerebral palsy, with the right physical therapy, it will be possible for Slava to one day be independent and self-reliant.

Slava’s bother Vlad plays for the Boston Bandits USPHL Premier team. Vlad recently created a gofundme page for his brother’s cerebral palsy physical therapy fund and is reaching out to the Junior Hockey community for support.

From October 11 to November 29, 2018, Slava and his parents attended a rehabilitation center in China (Yuzy). For 2 months, from early in the morning until late in the evening, Slava worked hard at the clinic and made several advances in both his mental and physical abilities. Traditional Chinese medicine works wonders. During his stay in the clinic, Slava’s muscles in his back, buttocks and legs strengthened and he experienced decreased hypertonicity of the muscles in his legs. And most importantly - Slava can now stand for a few seconds without support.

Slava’s doctors strongly recommend he attend another six month course at the rehab in China but the cost is prohibitively expensive. It is $23,000 for Slava’s treatment, accommodation at the clinic and translation services. Please donate anything you can spare.
